About Us

Myrl & LaVerl actually weren’t  iris farmers, but they were amazing Grandmothers, and they did love their irises. I remember the flowers in their gardens and when I had a spot of my own they gave me my first rhizomes.

It was my Great Grandmother that showed me how to dig and divide irises. That’s her in the picture, and the handwriting is my Grandmother’s.  She is surrounded by her purple irises that we offer here as the Heirloom Purple.

Our Heirloom Series is where you can find these flowers that are hand-me-downs and have been shared through multiple generations. Since we aren’t sure of the original hybridizers or even the flower’s name, we keep it simple. There is the Heirloom Purple, Heirloom Blue, Heirloom Yellow and Heirloom White.

The most exciting part is how the legacy continues. My little helper may not have known her Great-great-great Grandma, but she knows her irises. But her current favorite isn’t one of the heirlooms, but is the glorious iris Time Out.

Top Quality

Each rhizome is dug, washed and dried. Then thouroghly inspected to ensure the same level of quality that we demand of every addition to our own gardens.

Shipping

We dig in mid to late summer, and ship late summer to early fall. Look for the “DUG DATE” label on each rhizome. Our goal is to have them shipped within the next week.
